Sensors for Industrial Automation

Sensors for industrial automation have proven to be one of the most impactful items in the current industrial revolution. Present in practically all segments of the industry, the sensors are responsible for the basis of all the automation existing in industrial processes, serving as a basis for the presence of robotics and artificial intelligence in the industry.

The sensors act in different points of the system, being responsible for the detection of movements, material counting, direction control, level checking, light, pressure, flow, in short, they take readings of different parameters and feed the rest of the system with information that serve as a basis for decision making.

In some machines, sensors are used to monitor the position of an operator's body, preventing the cycle of machinery when it presents a risk of accident to the operator. This application gained a lot of momentum in the industry a few years ago and is easy to observe in several companies.
